Seb's take

Seb Silverback

A Pure Pakistani Landrace whose defining trait is the smell — cheese and chorizo in flower, more acid and citric once dried, the sort of aroma that does not travel discreetly. Earthy, sweet, banana and strawberry notes hide underneath; the high runs happy and euphoric, though whether relaxed or racing depends entirely on the smoker. Dense, resin-crusted buds at 24% THC.

Where it comes from

Reserva Privada preserved this from a Pure Pakistani Landrace, near enough unbroken at 99% indica — old Paki blue, Hindu Kush stock kept close to source. There is no elaborate cross to trace, and that is the point: this is landrace genetics carried forward largely as it was found, dense and resin-crusted and defiantly itself. The record calls it all about the smell, and once you have met it, you understand the emphasis.

Nose & flavour

In flower it reeks — of cheese and chorizo, the record says, and the fragrance develops constantly through the cycle but stays pungent throughout. Dried, it turns more acrid and citric, almost acid. Underneath the loud, savoury front sit sweeter notes: banana, strawberry, an earthy base. This is an aroma that does not travel discreetly by any measure — arresting, unusual, and entirely the plant's own character.

The high

Happy and euphoric at the core, though the record is honest that it can sit with the smoker in different ways — relaxed for one person, brainstormed and racing for another, depending on the person and the circumstances. X-18, it warns, can put your head to spin. A wonderfully balanced resin profile drives it, but this is a plant that meets you individually rather than delivering the same visit twice. THC at 24%.

Growing it

A regular plant, so expect both sexes and cull the males unless breeding. The buds are dense and rock-hard, literally crusted with resin, and — a rare mercy for something this frosted — very easy to manicure. Flowering runs 56 to 63 days, around eight to nine weeks at a standard pace, with solid yields of 450 to 600 g/m². No height figure is logged, so I will not state one. The resin will gum up your scissors regardless; clean them as you go. THC 24%.
