Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, two West Coast names that need no introduction, combine here to rather upstage themselves. Sweet, fruity, earthy on the nose, with a happy, euphoric, creative high that plays to type. Pure Gelato has, by most accounts, out-grown its parents.
Where it comes from
Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, two West Coast names that need little introduction, sit behind Pure Gelato, Vision Seeds' entry into the dessert lineage. Both parents arrive with considerable reputation, and the cross has a habit of rather upstaging them: the breeder positions it as an ultra-connoisseur line that, by most accounts, has out-grown the very stock it came from.
Nose & flavour
Sweet and fruity leads, as the dessert heritage demands, with an earthy base keeping it grounded. The Cookies and Sherbet lineage shows plainly, a confectioner's nose, layered rather than simply sugary. Rich enough to satisfy, without ever tipping into cloying.
The high
The effect plays to type: happy and euphoric with a creative streak, the head engaged and the mood lifted. A sociable, upward-leaning high rather than a sedating one, closer to the Sativa side of its makeup, and comfortable company for the earlier hours.
Growing it
Sixty-three days in flower, returning a generous 600 to 750 g/m². THC is quoted simply as high, without a figure attached, so take the breeder's word rather than mine. Feminized, so no males to cull. A rewarding grow for the yield alone, and one that carries a genuinely decorated pedigree behind it. Little to trouble a careful hand here.
