How to grow Purple Wreck
Taste
Seb's take
Purple Urkel lends the colour and flavour, Trainwreck the speed - a fair trade that shortens flowering while sharpening potency. Grape, blueberry and pine sit over a sweet berry base, with buds running olive green through violet and lavender by harvest. The high settles relaxed and sleepy, cooler nights bringing out both the colour and the calm.
Where it comes from
The plan behind this one is written plainly in the record: take the colour and rich flavour of Purple Urkel, cross it with Train Wreck, and in doing so shorten the flowering time while sharpening the potency. A fair trade, and an honest bit of breeding from Reserva Privada. Train Wreck brings its notorious vigour to bear on Urkel's slower, prettier disposition, and the offspring keeps the violet in the bud while finishing on a rather more agreeable schedule.
Nose & flavour
Grape leads the nose, with blueberry close behind and a resinous pine note keeping it grounded, all sat over a sweet berry base. As the plant ripens the buds run olive green through violet and lavender, so the eye is served as generously as the nose. Cooler nights coax both the colour and the depth of scent forward.
The high
The effect opens bright — euphoric, happy, faintly uplifted — before the indica in the line begins to assert itself and draws things gently downward into relaxed and, eventually, sleepy. An evening's companion rather than a morning's, at 17% THC. Nothing that will put you flat, but you will not be needed elsewhere once it settles.
Growing it
Height is not recorded, though the notes describe her staying short and compact, which makes some defoliation worthwhile to open the inner growth to light. Flowering finishes in 56 to 63 days indoors — eight to nine weeks — or by mid-October under the sky, with a yield of 400–500 g/m². She prefers warmer, semi-humid conditions but takes well to greenhouse and indoor life. Drop the night temperatures late on and she rewards you with deeper colour and a fuller expression of that grape. Honest work for a middleweight garden.
