How to grow Blue Dream
Blue Dream is the strain everyone hands a beginner, and for once everyone's right — with one catch nobody mentions until your plant is headbutting the light.
She's 60% sativa. That's not trivia, that's a warning. It means she stretches, hard, the moment you flip her to flower — plan for her to roughly double in height after the switch. I put a Blue Dream into a one-metre tent once, flipped her at 60cm feeling clever, and spent the back half of flower bending colas sideways so they didn't cook on the lamp. A bit of training in veg or an earlier flip sorts it. Ignoring the stretch does not.
The good news for a damp Irish room
Blue Dream shrugs off mould and mildew better than most, which is a genuine gift when the air's heavy and the radiator's off. But "resistant" isn't "immune" — keep the air moving and don't let humidity sit on her in late flower. That's true of every plant in this climate; she just gives you more margin. Spot trouble early here.
What the numbers actually mean
She runs 65–70 days in flower and lands around 28% THC. That THC figure reads like a selling point and is really just genetics — you don't crank potency with a bottle, you choose it at the seed and then give her enough light to show it. Same story with the sweet-berry smell off the Blueberry side: it's written into the genes, not fed in. We scored that one.
Who's she for? A first or second grow where you want a forgiving plant and a big, good-looking yield — as long as you respect the stretch and run a sensible photoperiod.
FAQ
Is Blue Dream good for beginners? Yes. She's forgiving and mould-resistant. The only real trap is her stretch — flip her shorter than feels sensible, or train her in veg.
How tall does Blue Dream get indoors? Around 100–120cm if you stay on top of her, but she'll try for more, and outdoors she can hit four metres. Decide your height plan before you flip, not after.
Do I need special feeding to hit that 28% THC? No. Potency is genetic. Steady feeding, enough light at the canopy, and a patient dry and cure will get you there. There's no bottle that adds it.
