How to grow Super Haze
Taste
Seb's take
Original Haze crossed with Skunk #1 to soften the taste and shorten the wait — a near-pure sativa that keeps the lineage's clarity. Sweet on the nose, with a high described as clear and upbeat rather than scattered, and a yield generous enough to make the cross worthwhile.
Where it comes from
Still one of the finest from the Dutch Passion team, and a study in improvement by careful crossing. They took Original Haze, a pure sativa, and crossed it with Skunk #1 to achieve three things at once: a bigger yield, a softer taste and a shorter flowering period. The Skunk tempers the Haze's demands without dulling its clarity, giving a near-100 per cent sativa that keeps the lineage's best qualities while shedding some of its notorious impatience. A favourite of their collection, and deservedly so.
Nose & flavour
The record leads with a truly superior sweet taste, softened deliberately from the sharper Original Haze by the Skunk cross. It is a clean, pleasant sweetness rather than a heavy one, the sort that makes the smoke agreeable where the pure Haze can be demanding. A refined nose, in keeping with a strain bred to smooth the rough edges of its distinguished parent.
The high
Incredibly clear and up, the effect keeps the energy of its sativa heritage without scattering the attention. It is a bright, lucid high, the kind that lifts and engages rather than sedates, and the clarity is the whole point of the exercise. Good daytime company for a mind that wants to stay sharp and lively while it works.
Growing it
The record is a regular seed line and quiet on the specifics of flowering time and height, so temperament will have to stand in for figures. What it does promise is a very high yield from an almost pure sativa, which is no small feat, since the type is famous for stretching long and returning modestly. The Skunk in the cross is what makes that generosity possible, shortening the wait and swelling the harvest. A grower after sativa clarity without a sativa's usual sacrifice will find the trade a fair one.
