How to grow Sour Blueberry
Taste
Seb's take
Blueberry crossed with Sour Diesel #2, the cold nights doing most of the work in coaxing out the blue everyone comes for. The effect is physical and relaxing, suited to nerve-related discomfort more than a night out. Modest at 14% THC, and honest about it.
Where it comes from
Blueberry crossed with Sour Diesel #2 by Humboldt Seeds - a marriage of one of the sweetest names in the book to one of the sourest, sixty per cent toward the sativa side. The record's most useful note is horticultural rather than genealogical: the blue colour everyone comes to this cross for is coaxed out by cold nights, not bred in. Nature does the painting; the grower need only lower the thermostat at the right moment.
Nose & flavour
The record sets down no tasting notes, and I would rather leave the nose unstated than assemble one from the parents' reputations. What it does record is the look - that prized blue, drawn out by cool nights in the final weeks. A plant whose most documented quality, for once, is its colour rather than its aroma. I will let the grower meet the smell firsthand.
The high
Physical and relaxing, the record says, at a modest fourteen per cent THC - honest about what it is, and no pretence toward being anything stronger. A gentle, settling sort of experience rather than an overwhelming one. The lower strength makes it a more forgiving companion than its diesel parentage might lead you to expect. Undramatic, and content to be so.
Growing it
A wide-ranging plant on paper - anywhere from 100 to 300cm depending on how she is run, so give her the headroom or keep her in check with training, as the space dictates. Flowering takes sixty to sixty-five days, with yields spanning 400 to 600 g/m². The one grower's note worth repeating: hold the nights cold as harvest nears if the blue is what you are after. Otherwise an accommodating plant across a broad range of setups.
