How to grow Sour Diesel #2
Taste
Seb's take
Mexican Sativa, Afghan and Kemo genetics combine in this Sour Diesel variant for an effect that is clear, strong and euphoric, and does not fade quickly. A long-time favourite among growers worldwide, for reasons the effect alone explains. Happy, straightforward, at 17-20% THC.
Where it comes from
A different route to the name than the usual Chemdawg cross - Humboldt Seeds build their Sour Diesel #2 from Mexican Sativa, Afghan and Kemo, a landrace-flavoured pedigree at seventy per cent sativa. The Mexican Sativa lends the reach, the Afghan the backbone, and Kemo the potency. A favourite among growers worldwide, the record notes, for reasons the effect explains more readily than the paperwork does.
Nose & flavour
The record withholds its tasting notes, and with a lineage this varied I would rather not guess at where the nose settles. What it does commit to is the effect and the pedigree; the aroma it leaves for the grower to meet. Given the sativa-heavy heritage, expect something bright rather than heavy - but I will call that a hunch and not a fact from the record.
The high
Clear, strong, happy and euphoric, the record says, and - its own emphasis - long-lasting. Seventeen to twenty per cent THC behind a high that stays lucid rather than muddled, which is much of why growers keep coming back to it. Straightforward in direction and generous in duration. An honest sativa lift with no hidden turns.
Growing it
A towering plant - 300cm given her head - so this is emphatically one to give the headroom, or to rein in with training before she reaches for the ceiling. Flowering runs seventy to seventy-seven days, with a broad yield range of 400 to 600 g/m² depending on how she is grown. The height is the main thing to plan around; manage that and the rest is the usual patient sativa routine. Room and time are all she really asks.
