How to grow Skunk
Taste
Seb's take
A classic Skunk #1 line tracing back to Colombian, Mexican and Afghan stock, bred hardy enough to shrug off the usual beginner mistakes. Diesel, pine and tobacco sit alongside the trademark skunk funk; the effect runs focused, happy and relaxing in equal measure. Short in stature, generous in yield.
Where it comes from
Kera Seeds' take on Skunk is a classic Skunk #1 line, and the record traces it all the way back to its foundations — Colombian, Mexican and Afghan stock, the three-way cross that gave the original Skunk its name and its reach. This is genetics that has gone on to parent a great many strains, which tells you how stable and how well-established it is. Sixty-five percent indica, bred hardy: resilient, resistant to mould and pests, and forgiving of the mistakes a first grow tends to make. A foundational line, in short, offered without pretension.
Nose & flavour
Diesel and pine up front, with the trademark skunk funk sitting beneath and a spicy, woody, faintly tobacco-like edge rounding it out. This is the aroma the whole category was named for, presented more or less unadorned. It does not travel discreetly, and a carbon filter earns its keep, but there is real depth here for anyone who reads the classics.
The high
Focused and happy, with an uplift that keeps it sociable and a relaxation underneath that keeps it comfortable — and, as ever with Skunk, an appetite arriving on cue. A balanced, everyday sort of effect rather than an extreme one, which is much of why the line has endured. Genuinely versatile company, morning or evening.
Growing it
THC is a gentle 15%, with a medium CBD reading. She finishes quickly, in seven to eight weeks, holds to a manageable 100–125cm, and returns a healthy 450 g/m². The record is emphatic about her hardiness — resistant to mould and pests, and able to withstand the common errors of a beginner — which makes her one of the better first grows on offer. Short, quick and generous, forgiving of enthusiasm, and stable enough that what you plant is reliably what you harvest.
