Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Afghan Skunk, autoflowered and none the worse for it — the fast yields the breeders promised, and the original skunk pungency fully intact. Lemon over earth on the nose; the high is relaxed and calming, happy without shouting about it. Does not travel discreetly.

Where it comes from

Advanced Seeds took their highly popular Afghan Skunk and crossed it to Ruderalis to make this autoflowering version, Indica-dominant and none the worse for the conversion. The Ruderalis brings the automatic habit and the super-fast finish; the original Afghan Skunk supplies everything that made the photoperiod line worth converting. A sensible auto of a well-liked plant, with its character kept faithfully intact.

Nose & flavour

Lemon over an earthy base, carrying the original skunk flavour that the breeders were careful to preserve through the conversion. It is a pungent, characterful profile, the lemon bright above the earth and skunk beneath. She does not travel discreetly, in the family manner, and the resin she carries is generous. Faithful to her parent, and unashamed of it.

The high

Relaxed and calming, happy without shouting about it, a comfortable, settling sort of experience true to her Indica-dominant nature. This is easy evening company, a gentle unwinding rather than a lift. The effect is unhurried and good-natured, the kind that softens the day's edges without pinning you to the furniture.

Growing it

Sixty-five to seventy days in flower, a standard auto turn, on a medium seventy to a hundred centimetres. Yields run a solid four hundred to five hundred grams the square metre from a highly resinous plant. The super-fast finish is the point of her: the breeders promised speed and she delivers it, with the skunk character fully preserved. At a moderate 15% THC she is straightforward and honest. A tidy, obliging auto for the grower who values a quick, clean turnaround.
