How to grow Silver LA
Taste
Seb's take
Silver Bubble crossed with LA Confidential gives Silver LA its compact frame — one of the shortest strains DNA Genetics offers, usually staying to 120–130cm indoors or out. Fresh, fruity and spicy aromas fill the grow room as flowers ripen, pale green to yellowish with dark hairs. An indica-dominant hybrid with a fair share of sativa still showing through.
Where it comes from
DNA Genetics built Silver LA from Silver Bubble and L.A. Confidential, and the cross runs unusually short — one of the most compact strains DNA offers, holding to 120–130cm whether grown indoors or out. It leans indica-dominant, though there is a fair measure of sativa still showing through the structure. The parentage is the story: L.A. Confidential's famously tidy, resinous indica frame paired with Silver Bubble's brighter side, arranged for a plant that stays low without giving up character. Room space and a longer vegetative stretch will coax a little more size from her, if size is what you are after.
Nose & flavour
The listed profile is sparse, but the record does note the grow room filling with fresh, fruity and spicy aromas by the time she ripens — a lively, slightly sharp bouquet rather than a heavy one. The buds themselves are a picture: pale green to lime, occasionally yellowish, threaded with dark orange and brown hairs. A handsome plant that announces harvest by scent before you have reached for the scissors.
The high
The record does not set down an effect profile, so honesty serves better than guesswork here. What it gives us is the make-up: indica-dominant, at 60%, with a genuine share of sativa alongside — a balance that typically reads as a settled body character with the head kept reasonably clear. Beyond that the record stays quiet, and so shall I.
Growing it
She flowers in eight to nine weeks, or comes in by the middle of October outdoors, and yields 400–500 g/m². Height holds to 120–130cm in most conditions, indoors or out, which makes her a natural for a Sea of Green — the record recommends sixteen plants per square metre for exactly that. Give her more root space and a longer vegetative run and she will oblige with a little extra size. An easy, compact, well-behaved plant, and one of the shorter options DNA keeps on the shelf.
