How to grow Shining Silver Haze
Taste
Seb's take
Haze, Skunk and Northern Light combine in Shining Silver Haze for an old-school effect delivered faster than the classics manage — sweet and citrusy on the nose, with a lasting head high behind it. Happy, euphoric and aroused in equal parts, she thrives in cold climates most sativas would sulk through.
Where it comes from
Royal Queen Seeds built Shining Silver Haze from Haze crossed with a Skunk and Northern Light pairing — a 75 percent sativa with a genetic pool drawn, in the breeder's telling, from all parts of the world. The aim was a fast-flowering, cold-resisting sativa that delivers the old-school haze effect without the old-school patience, and the mixed heritage is what lets it manage both. A well-travelled pedigree, tuned for hardiness as much as character.
Nose & flavour
Sweet and citrusy, with an earthy base underneath — a bright, aromatic profile that fills the soul, the record reckons, along with the room. It is the classic haze character, lifted by that citrus sweetness and grounded by the earth beneath it. A clean, inviting nose, the sort the old sativas were prized for, without the harshness that sometimes came with them. Bright at the top, steady at the base, and moreish throughout.
The high
A lasting head high, happy and euphoric, with an aroused edge rounding out the set — the old-school haze effect the plant was built to deliver, in full. It keeps to the cerebral, uplifting side of things, the sort of lift that has the mind engaged and the mood bright. A long-serving, clear-headed high, then, and a cheerful one — daytime company that keeps its momentum rather than fading early. Uplifting throughout, and generous with it.
Growing it
The whole selling point is a sativa that behaves in the cold — she grows like a resilient sativa but flowers in shorter times, and thrives in cool climates most of her kind would sulk through. She stands 80 to 120cm and finishes in 63 to 77 days, with some phenotypes wrapping in as little as nine weeks. Yields are heavy at 600 to 650 g/m², at 21 percent THC with medium CBD. Fast-growing and tall outdoors, cold-hardy throughout — a sativa built to go where sativas usually will not.
