How to grow Power Kush Auto
Taste
Seb's take
Formerly sold as Critical Kush XL, this autoflowering Power Kush stays compact — under 110cm indoors — and picks up speed fast once the roots take hold. Skunk, coffee, and spicy-herbal notes on the nose; the high runs relaxed, sleepy, creative, euphoric, and happy in no particular hurry. A tidy, indica-dominant grower with a name change but the same character.
Where it comes from
Zambeza Seeds cross Power Kush with Ruderalis to produce this autoflowering version, previously sold, the record notes, as Critical Kush XL. The name may have changed, but the character carries over: the Ruderalis adds automatic timing and a compact, indica-leaning stature while the Power Kush parent keeps the flavour and effect intact. A practical reworking of a proven line for growers who would rather not manage a light schedule. Same plant, in essence, under a new banner.
Nose & flavour
The nose carries the Power Kush character faithfully, skunk and pungency up front, a spicy-herbal middle, and that distinctive coffee note underpinning the sweetness. It is a darker, more savoury aroma than most autoflowers manage, the Ruderalis having done nothing to dull it. Complex and room-filling, and consistent from grinder to exhale.
The high
The effect moves in no particular hurry, relaxed, sleepy, creative, euphoric and happy by turns, an easygoing breadth that suits a plant of only 14 percent THC. It is gentle company rather than commanding, unlikely to overwhelm and content to shift between moods as it goes. Undemanding, varied, and comfortable throughout.
Growing it
The record is clear that the first weeks matter most, give this auto a clean start and the short 55 to 65-day life runs, in its words, like a roller coaster with only one direction. The plant stays compact at 80 to 110cm indoors, a touch taller outside, its indica-dominant genetics keeping it tidy. Indoor yields peak at 350 to 400 g/m², with as much as 100 to 150g per plant under direct sun. A forgiving, well-behaved auto that rewards early attention.
