How to grow Auto OG Kush
Taste
Seb's take
OG Kush, autoflowered without apparent compromise — a strong yielder, full of resin, and in no hurry to prove otherwise. Woody, pine and skunk on the nose with a nutty, pungent edge; the high is relaxed, sleepy and euphoric, tingly and happy throughout. The sitting-down sort, unmistakably.
Where it comes from
OG Kush needs little introduction, one of the more heavily-borrowed names in the modern catalogue. Victory Seeds crossed her with Ruderalis to autoflower the line, and by the record's telling the usual compromise never turned up: she remains a strong yielder, full of resin, and in no hurry to prove otherwise. A classic, in short, fitted with an automatic gearbox. The pedigree does the persuading here, and asks nothing of the grower's patience with light timers.
Nose & flavour
Woody and piney up front, earthy underneath, with the skunk the Kush name promises and a nutty, pungent edge behind it. Not a subtle bouquet, it dresses heavily for the occasion and announces itself on entry. The complexity is the appeal; there is rather more going on here than the average auto bothers to develop. Full, dark and unmistakably of its family.
The high
Relaxed and sleepy at heart, though not without lift, a euphoric, happy, tingly quality runs alongside, and appetite tends to follow close behind. The overall direction, however, is downward into the chair. The sitting-down sort, unmistakably, and best kept for an evening with nothing further scheduled. A comfortable settle rather than a jolt.
Growing it
Flowering runs a slow 70 to 77 days, so patience is required of anyone growing her. She stretches considerably, 80 to 180cm, which for an autoflower is a generous range; give her the headroom and be ready to tie down the taller phenotypes. Yields land around 400 g/m². The record lists her potency simply as high and her CBD as medium, without precise figures, so take the strength on trust and approach the first session accordingly. A rewarding grow for someone with the vertical space and the patience to match.
