How to grow Pineapple Haze
Taste
Seb's take
Afghan, Skunk #1, and Old School Haze combine in this regular, non-feminized Sativa-dominant cross, one that wants sun, room, and patience in roughly equal measure. Sweet pineapple and citrus on the nose; the high is euphoric, energetic, and creative — built for daytime rather than evening. Given her headroom, she'll comfortably clear two and a half metres.
Where it comes from
Barney's Farm assemble three classics here, Afghan for backbone, Skunk #1 for pungency, and Old School Haze for the long, soaring head, released, notably, as regular rather than feminized seed. At 65 percent sativa the Haze parent sets the tone: this wants sun, room and patience in roughly equal measure. It is a grower's strain in the traditional sense, offered to those happy to sex their own plants and select as they go. Proper old-school lineage, assembled without shortcuts.
Nose & flavour
Sweet pineapple leads the nose with a bright citrus edge behind it, the Skunk #1 parent grounding the fruit with a pungent base. It is a fresh, uplifting aroma that matches the daytime character of the high. Loud enough to want ventilation, but a cheerful sort of loud rather than a fuel-heavy one.
The high
The effect is built for daylight, euphoric, energetic and creative, the Haze lineage delivering a clear, soaring head high rather than any settling weight. At 24 percent THC it has real substance behind the brightness, but the character stays up and forward throughout. Good company for work that benefits from momentum, and poor company for an early night.
Growing it
Patience is the price of admission, flowering runs 65 to 70 days, up to ten weeks indoors, with outdoor plants finishing by the end of October. Indoors she reaches 120 to 140cm; given root space and sun outdoors she will comfortably clear 250cm and can return as much as 1,500g per plant at full stretch. Indoor yields sit at 600 to 700 g/m². She prefers warmth and rewards headroom. A sativa project for the committed rather than the hurried.
