Afghani crossed with Skunk, named for giving Dutch growers hope that anything could survive their notoriously wet, unstable summers. Sweet, earthy citrus over pine and tea on the nose; the high runs sleepy, relaxed, happy and giggly, hunger included. Ninety per cent indica, finishing in seven to nine weeks with the resilience the name promises.
Where it comes from
Afghani crossed with Skunk, and a plant with a story built into its name — it was christened for the hope it gave growers that a strain could actually finish, and finish well, in the notoriously wet and unstable Dutch summer. Where dense indica buds tended to mould and sativas ran out of season, this ninety per cent indica did neither. The name is not marketing so much as a small monument to relief.
Nose & flavour
Sweet at the lead, with an earthy, citrus body and a curious note of tea running through it. Pine and a pungent edge fill out the corners. An unusual, slightly herbal profile — less about impact than about character, which suits a plant bred for endurance rather than theatre.
The high
Sleepy and relaxed, but with a cheerful streak — happy, giggly, and inclined toward the fridge before the evening is done. It eases you down by degrees rather than dropping you. Good-natured company, and about as unthreatening as ninety per cent indica gets.
Growing it
The whole point is resilience, and she has it — finishing in seven to nine weeks indoors, or by early October outside, without fear of a damp autumn. Indoors she stays a tidy 100 to 120cm; outdoors she can reach around 200cm. Yields run 350 to 550 g/m², or roughly 150 grams per plant, at a gentle 15% THC. A plant that forgives poor weather and, by extension, a good deal of grower enthusiasm besides. Regular seed, so plan for both sexes.
