Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Berry and blueberry meet a herbal, spicy edge courtesy of Thai Skunk landrace stock — one of several Blue-family unions from Dinafem, alongside Blue Kush, Blue Hash and Blue Widow. The high is relaxed and uplifted, focused rather than foggy, with the dry mouth to prove the lineage's Sativa half is present and accounted for.

Where it comes from

Dinafem set Blue Thai among their broader Blue family, alongside Blue Kush, Blue Hash and Blue Widow, by crossing the fruity Indica Blueberry with Thai Skunk, which the breeders rightly call a world-renowned landrace. That landrace half is what pulls the plant away from a straightforward Indica and gives her a Sativa's reach, in both the stretch of the plant and the shape of the high. A Blue-family strain with more travel in it than most of its relatives.

Nose & flavour

Berry and blueberry meet a herbal, faintly spicy edge, the Thai Skunk landrace showing its hand against the Blueberry sweetness. It is the more interesting for that tension: fruit up front, something drier and more aromatic trailing behind. A nose with a little of the East in it, and better for the complication.

The high

The effect leans to the clear-headed side of relaxed, uplifted, happy and, notably, focused rather than foggy, which is the Thai heritage earning its keep. At 20 percent THC it lifts without scattering you, useful company for a day that still has work in it. The one tax is a dry mouth, so keep water to hand.

Growing it

Mind the tape measure: she can reach 300cm, so this is a plant for open ground or a tall room, not a cupboard. Give her the headroom and train her early. She finishes flower quickly for her size, in 54 to 60 days, and rewards the space with 600 g/m² indoors. The Sativa stretch is the price of the Thai landrace in her, and a fair one, plan the vertical room before you plant, and the rest looks after itself.
