Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Blueberry crossed with a dark-leaved Kush, and the plant dresses for the occasion — leaves colouring through to deep purple by harvest. Sweet earth and berry on the nose; the high is relaxed, happy and calming, at 22 to 26% THC a strain to sip rather than session.

Where it comes from

Dutch Passion built this from the original Blueberry crossed with a dark-leaved, tarry Kush, an Indica-dominant hybrid that turned out surprisingly well. The Blueberry lends the sweet, fruited character; the Kush the deep colour and the heavy, resinous body. As she matures her leaves change colour, and by full maturation she produces heavy purple buds among dark foliage. A handsome plant, and one that dresses for the occasion in the most literal sense.

Nose & flavour

Sweet earth and berry on the nose, a warm, fruited profile with the Blueberry parentage clearly in evidence. It is the berry that leads, sweet and full, over an earthy Kush base that grounds it. A rich, comfortable aroma to match the deep purple of the mature buds, and a faithful echo of the Blueberry line beneath her.

The high

Relaxed, happy and calming, a settling, good-humoured experience true to her Indica-dominant nature. This is easy evening company, a gentle unwinding rather than a lift. At 22 to 26% THC there is real weight behind the calm, so this is a strain to sip rather than session; approach with the measure a potent Indica deserves.

Growing it

Seventy days in flower, a standard auto turn, on a medium seventy-five to a hundred centimetres. Yields run a solid four hundred to five hundred grams the square metre from heavy purple buds set among dark leaves, a genuinely striking plant at harvest. At 22 to 26% THC she is potent as well as good-looking. The colour change through maturity is worth watching for its own sake. A handsome, generous auto with a proper Indica finish.
