NYC Diesel meets White Widow here, and the diesel does not travel discreetly — earthy, skunky, pungent, unmistakably present in any room. The high is talkative and focused rather than flattening, easing into relaxed euphoria. She prefers a warmer climate and finishes generously, up to 400g a plant, in dense resinous buds.
Where it comes from
White Label Seed Company set the award-winning NYC Diesel against White Widow, a legend in her own right, and asked the pair to live up to their surnames. The record reports they did, taking the best of both: the Diesel's fuel and the Widow's resin, finished in a plant that carries both traditions without embarrassing either. High expectations, met — which is not always how these things go.
Nose & flavour
Diesel, and it does not travel discreetly — earthy, skunky, woody and thoroughly pungent, the sort of aroma that establishes itself in a room and declines to leave. There is no coyness to her; the fuel is front and centre with the skunk close behind and an earthen base holding the whole thing down. Unmistakably present, and rather proud of it.
The high
Talkative and focused rather than flattening — the head stays engaged and sociable while the body eases towards relaxed euphoria. Uplifted through the middle, it is company for the evening more than a full stop to it. A conversational sort of high, which is not what the diesel on the nose might lead you to brace for.
Growing it
She prefers a warmer climate or environment for her best work, and rewards patience with room. The record gives 7 to 9 weeks in flower, or a mid-October finish outdoors, and — given adequate vegetation time and root space — up to 400 g per plant, or around 400 g/m². The buds come dense, hard and thoroughly resinous, testing at 20 to 22% THC. Standing 100 to 150cm, she wants headroom and warmth; give her both and she does not disappoint.
