How to grow Sweet Purple
Seb's take
Bred with Thai in the lineage but built for cooler, damper climates than that parentage suggests, taking third place outdoor at the Highlife Cannabis Cup for the effort. An even hybrid, fungus-resistant and vigorous, reaching up to two metres given the room and the patience.
Where it comes from
Paradise Seeds bred Sweet Purple with Thai in the lineage, then pointed it somewhere its ancestor would scarcely recognise — the cool, damp north rather than the tropics. The brief was outdoor performance in the cold and resistance to fungus, and she delivers on both, taking third place in the outdoor category at the Highlife Cannabis Cup for the trouble. An even fifty-fifty hybrid, vigorous in the trunk and side shoots, built for growers whose skies are grey more often than not.
Nose & flavour
The record sets down no formal tasting notes, so I will not invent them. The name points where the colour goes — the purple hues these northern, cold-touched plants tend to throw — and the Thai in her background hints at something sweeter and more aromatic beneath. Past that, I leave the jar to speak for itself rather than speak over it.
The high
No effect notes are recorded, and I would sooner admit the gap than paper over it. An even hybrid at twelve to sixteen percent THC tends toward the balanced rather than the extreme — neither all head nor all limbs. Take her measure gently and let the plant fill in what the record leaves blank.
Growing it
Here she earns her keep. Bred for northern climates, she shrugs off cold and damp and resists fungus where others rot — no small thing outdoors. Given room and the right conditions she reaches up to two metres, so the headroom is not optional, and returns around 500g per plant for it. The flowering time isn't set down in the record, so I will not pin a figure to it; patience and a grey sky are the main requirements.
