How to grow Skunk#1 Autoflower
Taste
Seb's take
This autoflowering Skunk #1 leans indica, out of Colombian Gold and Afghani genetics several decades and many crossings deep. Pungent, skunky, with tobacco and tar beneath — no prizes for guessing the family. The smoke offers invigorating cerebral stimulation alongside full-body relaxation, forgiving enough for those with no growing experience at all.
Where it comes from
Herbies' autoflowering Skunk #1 reaches back the same several decades as the photoperiod original, its complex make-up the product of many crossings and backcrossings. Here the named parents are Colombian Gold and Afghani — the sativa brightness and the indica ballast that have always anchored the Skunk line. This version leans to the indica end, and the ruderalis brought in to make it autoflower has done nothing to blunt the heritage. A faithful, decades-deep pedigree, repackaged for growers who would rather not manage a light schedule.
Nose & flavour
Pungent and skunky, with the same earthy, tobacco-and-tar character and a sharp ammonia edge that the family is known for. No prizes for guessing the lineage from the nose alone. It is a loud, old-school aroma, and discretion is not among its virtues — plan your ventilation accordingly.
The high
The record describes it well: invigorating cerebral stimulation alongside a full-body relaxation, the best of both leanings at once. Happy, euphoric and giggly on the mind, focused and creative with it, and settled through the body. A balanced, generous effect that suits company or solitude equally, and forgives the newcomer their inexperience.
Growing it
THC is a gentle 15%, with 1% CBD alongside. She flowers in roughly nine to ten weeks and reaches around 100–140cm, returning 305 g/m². The headline here is ease — the record recommends her to people with no growing experience whatsoever, which the sturdy Skunk-and-ruderalis make-up bears out. A forgiving, undemanding autoflower that carries the whole weight of the Skunk heritage without asking the grower to earn it. Give the taller phenotypes a little headroom and otherwise let her get on with it.
