Bred from undisclosed 'secret strains,' Sirius Black lives up to the name — one of the darkest-looking varieties World Wide Cultivars offers. Citrus and fruit on the nose give way to a Kush-wood finish, bright on top and deeper underneath. The high is creative and energetic at first, settling into a calmer, more indica undertone as it develops.
Where it comes from
World Wide Cultivars keep the parentage of Sirius Black under wraps — 'secret strains', and one respects a breeder who declines to show his whole hand. What is on record is the effect of that undisclosed cross: an unusually dark plant, described as one of the blackest-looking varieties they offer, which makes the name rather more literal than most. A 60% indica, 40% sativa hybrid, then, with a striking appearance and a lineage its makers would prefer you took on trust. The darkness is the calling card, and it is earned.
Nose & flavour
Citrus and fruit lead the nose, bright and lifted, before the whole thing deepens into a Kush-wood finish — light on top, heavier underneath, as the record neatly puts it. There is strong resin appeal here too when the plant is grown well, which concentrates the aroma. A profile that rewards attention: the sweetness draws you in, the woody base holds the ground.
The high
