How to grow Sapphire OG
Seb's take
Two Florida Cut OG lines and an Afghan landrace go into Sapphire OG, and the complexity shows — layered, unlike any single OG on its own. The Afghan side carries through into the high: euphoric, calm, unhurried. A pedigree strain that lets its lineage do the talking.
Where it comes from
Humboldt Seeds assembled Sapphire OG from two Florida Cut OG lines crossed with an Afghan landrace — an 85 percent indica hybrid with a pedigree that reads like a shortlist of the good stuff. Two OGs of the same family, tuned slightly apart, plus the broad-shouldered Afghan underneath, and you get an OG that stands a little away from the rest of the pack. The complexity is the point; no single one of those parents on its own would give you quite this.
Nose & flavour
The record leans on complexity rather than a tidy list, and with three heavyweight parents that is fair enough. Expect the layered, incredibly involved aromas the breeder promises — OG's fuel-and-earth backbone, deepened by the Afghan's dense, hashy character sitting underneath. This is a nose to sit with rather than skim past, the sort that rewards a second pass once the first has faded.
The high
The Afghan side does the heavy lifting on the effect: a powerful experience dominated by euphoria and a settled calm. It arrives unhurried, the sort of high that has you comfortable and content rather than scattered, then keeps you there. At 85 percent indica, it knows which way it is going before you do. A pedigree strain that lets its lineage do the talking, and the lineage is not short of things to say.
Growing it
Sapphire OG flowers on the quick side for such a heavy indica, 57 to 63 days, and rewards patience with a wide range on yield — anywhere from 400 to 600 g/m² depending on how well you feed the frame. She stretches tall, 300 to 400cm given her head, so a plan for that height is not optional. THC sits at 18 to 24 percent. The temperament is that of a plant confident in its own genetics: vigorous, generous, and asking mainly that you keep pace with her structure through the stretch.
