How to grow S.A.D. Sweet Afgani Delicious F1 Fast Version
Taste
Seb's take
The auto and photoperiod branches of the S.A.D. family meet here, crossed with Black Domina '98 to shave weeks off the flowering time. Sweet, spiced musk on the nose; the high is relaxed, euphoric and calming, unhurried despite the fast turnaround. A 6-7 week flower and a dense, sticky harvest for growers who want the classic without the wait.
Where it comes from
A curious bit of breeding, this, Sweet Seeds crossed the autoflowering S.A.D. with a Black Domina '98 mother to produce a photoperiod F1 that finishes unusually fast. Marrying an auto to a photoperiod strain is what buys the short flowering time, while Black Domina, one of the heavier indicas going, lends bulk and resin. The result keeps the S.A.D. family's character but shaves weeks off the schedule. A clever shortcut, aimed squarely at growers who want a quick turnaround without giving up the classic.
Nose & flavour
Sweet and spiced, with a musky depth beneath, the S.A.D. signature carried through, deepened a little by the Black Domina in the cross. It is a warm, resinous nose rather than a bright one, savoury and rounded. Rich, and characteristic of the line it comes from. A jar with plenty to say.
The high
Relaxed, euphoric and calming, an even, unhurried settle that belies the fast schedule the plant grows on. At 15 to 20% THC it is potent without being punishing, leaning to the pleasant, weighted end of the range. Evening company, in the family manner, with a euphoric lift to keep it from turning wholly sedentary.
Growing it
Speed is the whole point. She grows rapidly through veg and flowers in a short six to seven weeks, 42 to 49 days, which is what makes her a favourite for commercial growers chasing quick cycles. The harvest does not suffer for the haste: 400 to 500 g/m² of dense, sticky, resin-coated bud. That resin will gum up your scissors, so clean them as you were taught. At 15 to 20% THC, a fast, productive grow with the classic left intact.
