Seb's take

Seb Silverback

The autoflowering branch of Sweet Seeds' S.A.D. line, compact but shockingly resinous for her size. Sweet, pungent earth on the nose, true to the Afgani half of her name; the high is the sitting-down sort — sleepy, relaxed, calming. At 18% THC, an honest, unhurried smoke.

Where it comes from

The autoflowering branch of Sweet Seeds' long-running S.A.D. line, Sweet Afgani Delicious taught to flower on its own schedule. The Afgani heritage in the name is the heart of it, a broad, resinous indica lineage, here crossed into autoflowering stock to bring the calendar forward. Sweet Seeds have kept the family character intact through the conversion: the same musky, delicious plant, simply quicker to the finish and smaller in the frame.

Nose & flavour

Sweet and pungent, with an earthy, musky depth beneath, the intense aroma the S.A.D. line is known for, and it does not travel discreetly. The Afgani side lends the muskiness, the sweetness rounds it off. For a plant this compact, the nose punches well above its dimensions. A rich, resinous scent, and plenty of it.

The high

The sitting-down sort. Sleepy, relaxed and calming, the 18% THC settling squarely into the body, an indica's quiet drop rather than any sort of lift. Evening company, the kind that leaves you disinclined to get up again. Honest, unhurried and weighty, exactly as the Afgani heritage promises.

Growing it

Compact but astonishingly resinous, the buds carry a resin content the breeder rightly calls shocking, dense and sticky despite the modest size of the plant. She stands just 40 to 90cm and flowers in a brisk 56 days, turning in 400 to 500 g/m² for the size. That heavy resin makes her a good candidate for careful trimming, so keep the scissors clean. At 18% THC, a small, potent, unfussy grow.
