How to grow Royal Medic CBD
Taste
Seb's take
Critical crossed with Juanita la Lagrimosa, two Spanish CBD lines uniting for pain, inflammation and insomnia rather than a heady lift. Sweet pine and fruit on the nose; the high stays relaxed and gently medicinal throughout. A heavy yielder with narrow, purple-tinged leaves, at her best in a warm climate.
Where it comes from
Two Spanish CBD lines converge here, Critical and Juanita la Lagrimosa, bred by Royal Queen Seeds into a high-CBD, low-THC hybrid that leans strongly sativa. Both parents are noted for their cannabidiol content, and the cross doubles down on it: Critical brings the yield, Juanita the balance. The name signals the intent plainly enough. This is a plant built around the CBD side of the ledger, with the THC deliberately kept low.
Nose & flavour
Sweet and fruity with a resinous pine note running underneath, the Critical influence showing in the sweetness, a Mediterranean brightness over the top. Rounded and pleasant rather than pungent, an easygoing nose that suits the gentle character of the plant. Nothing sharp, nothing heavy, and approachable from the first draw.
The high
With just 10% THC and a high CBD count, this is about as gentle as the effect gets, relaxed, happy and calm, with none of the ceiling a potent hybrid brings. It stays level and clear-headed, a soft settle rather than a heavy one, better suited to an unhurried evening than any sort of intensity. Mild, in the most deliberate sense.
Growing it
A heavy yielder, a habit inherited squarely from Critical, 500 to 550 g/m² over a 63 to 70 day flower, from a plant standing 80 to 120cm. She is a handsome thing at maturity: large fan leaves with narrow blades, taking on a purplish hue, arranged around a single central cola with smaller clusters below. She performs best in a warm climate, so favour her with heat and light where you can. At 10% THC and high in CBD, a generous, even-tempered grow.
