Where it comes from
The record spells the cross out generously: Himalayan Kush and Afghani on the indica side, met with Utopia Haze, a Brazilian sativa landrace, on the other — Barney's Farm assembling a 60% sativa-dominant plant from serious stock. The dragon of the name shows itself at harvest, when the colas darken to red as they ripen. Old-world Kush weight and new-world landrace lift in one plant, and a handsome one at that.
Nose & flavour
Sweet tropical fruit leads the nose, brighter than the indica half would suggest, sat over an earthy, woody base with a pungent edge keeping it grounded. The Haze landrace lifts it, the Afghani weighs it down, and the two meet at something both fragrant and substantial. A full, layered profile — fruit up top, earth beneath, and enough pungency that it announces itself.
The high
The effect runs energetic and euphoric, happy and uplifted, with a relaxed undertow beneath keeping it from tipping fully into a race. A bright, sociable sort of high with a bit of body to it — the sativa leads, the Kush follows quietly. At 22% THC with 1.2% CBD, lively without losing its footing.
Growing it
Short, fast and resilient — the sort of plant that flatters a new grower and reassures an old one.
