Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Blood Wreck and Querkle stand behind Qrazy Train, with an underlying fruit sweetness rounding out the cross rather nicely. Earthy, pungent and citrus-flowery on the nose, the effect runs relaxed, focused and quietly euphoric. She matures fast, showing milky resin by day forty-five, with leaves turning burgundy and amber well before harvest.

Where it comes from

Blood Wreck and Querkle stand behind this cross from TGA Subcool, and the record notes an underlying fruit smell it attributes to Space Queen further back in the family — the sort of detail that gives away a Subcool pedigree, where Space Queen turns up in a great many of the house crosses. The progeny, by the breeder's telling, takes the best of both contributing parents and rounds the whole thing out with that fruit note.

Nose & flavour

Earthy and pungent lead the nose, with a citrus lift and a flowery top note keeping it from turning heavy. Beneath sits that sweet, fruity undertone the record credits to the Space Queen line. Not a subtle plant — pungent is the operative word — but a well-balanced one, the sweetness and the earth pulling in useful opposite directions.

The high

The effect is agreeable and level: relaxed and quietly euphoric, happy without fuss, and focused enough to remain useful. At 14% THC it is honest about what it is — a companionable middleweight rather than a heavyweight, the sort you can spend an afternoon with and still get things done.

Growing it

She matures fast, and the record is precise about it — milky resin heads showing by day forty-five, with flowering wrapped up around 56 days. The buds come spear-shaped with a good calyx-to-leaf ratio, which means less work at the trimming table. Most of the fan leaves fade and drop of their own accord before harvest, several turning fine burgundy and amber autumn colours as they go — a plant that tidies up after itself and looks handsome doing it. Neither height nor yield is recorded, so I leave those be.
