Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Named, by rumour, for a nearby actual trainwreck that forced an early harvest back in the sixties — the effects have stayed just as sudden ever since. Spice, pine and lemon on the nose; the high is uplifting, relaxed and creative, a balanced hybrid built for blissful upliftment rather than derailment.

Where it comes from

The origins are, by the record's own admission, wrapped in rumour, but the popular account holds that the original Trainwreck has been around since the sixties and took her name from an incident where her growers harvested early on account of a nearby actual trainwreck. It is at least as likely the name owes something to her instant, hard-hitting effects. Fast Buds crossed her with FB Fem Auto #14 for this balanced autoflower, keeping the sudden character and the story alike.

Nose & flavour

Spice leads, with pine giving it structure and a bright lemon note lifting the top. It is a mouth-watering profile, sharp and fresh rather than heavy, the citrus keeping the whole thing lively. A well-composed nose that balances the herbal and the fruity without either taking over. Clean and inviting from grind to exhale.

The high

A perfectly balanced sativa-indica effect, running uplifting, relaxed and creative, with a focus on blissful upliftment rather than derailment, whatever the name might threaten. It lifts the mood while keeping the body at ease, an even-handed high suited to most hours of the day. Classic hybrid effects, delivered with the sort of sudden onset the strain has always been known for. Bright and settling at once.

Growing it

An autoflower finishing in 56 to 63 days, reaching a medium 70 to 120cm. Indoors she returns 350 to 550 g/m², a fairly wide range. The genetics are 45 percent indica, 55 percent sativa, with THC at 22 percent. The record is heavier on lore than on horticultural quirks, which for a balanced Fast Buds auto usually means a forgiving, self-timing plant. Give her some headroom for the taller phenotypes, and she gets on with things without derailing anyone's season.
