How to grow Kali China Breeders Pack
Taste
Seb's take
The breeders' pack of the same Kali Mist and China Yunnan cross, compact and columnar indoors, rounder and bushier out. The aroma runs unusually complex, mango, sweet cream, incense, hash, even grilled meat, ahead of a relaxed, introspective, psychedelic sativa high. Warmth early, a cool snap late, is the recipe for the good stuff.
Where it comes from
The breeders' pack from Ace Seeds, built on a Kali Mist and China Yunnan cross then folded back onto that same Yunnan line, which is where the three-quarters indica weighting comes from. China Yunnan is a landrace from the south-western Chinese province of the same name, and its Southeast Asian sativa character carries through the whole thing despite the indica majority. Doubling down on one parent tends to fix its traits firmly in place, and here it lends the complexity that follows.
Nose & flavour
The nose is unusually busy for a plant this compact, mango juice and sweet cream up front, then incense, hash and oriental spices behind, with a savoury note the breeder frankly describes as grilled meat. It is the sort of aroma that rewards a second sniff rather than announcing itself all at once. Complex and tropical, and not remotely what the indica build might lead you to expect.
The high
Underneath the indica frame sits a refined tropical sativa effect, powerful and faintly psychedelic, engaging the senses before the body catches up. It develops slowly toward the relaxed, introspective and meditative rather than the frantic. A thinking sort of experience, best given room and quiet to unfold properly.
Growing it
Indoors she grows columnar and compact, causing no height trouble; outdoors she fills into a rounder shape. Flowering runs 49 to 63 days, quick for the complexity on offer. The breeder recommends warm conditions of around 25 degrees for the first stage and the opening four weeks of flowering, then a drop to roughly 20 degrees for the remainder, a cool late snap being the trick to the good stuff. THC sits at 14 to 22%. Suited to indoors or out, and undemanding for what it delivers.
