How to grow Gold Rush Outdoor
Taste
Seb's take
Polm Gold, Purple Power and Afghan combine, with the most potent Polm Gold mother chosen deliberately to keep the resin generous. Sweet, earthy notes carry a slight diesel edge on the nose; the high blends Polm Gold's body-stone with Purple Power's lift, some phenotypes turning a handsome purple as they finish.
Where it comes from
Spliff Seeds built this outdoor line from Polm Gold, Purple Power and Afghan, and were deliberate about it: the record notes they chose the most potent and productive Polm Gold phenotype as the mother, precisely to keep the resin generous. The record puts her at 85 per cent sativa. Polm Gold lends the body and the resin, Purple Power the lift and the occasional purple flush, Afghan the sturdy backbone. A considered outdoor cross, not a scattergun one.
Nose & flavour
Very aromatic, the record has it, and specific about the shape: sweet and earthy at the core, with a slight diesel edge running underneath. It is a rounded, savoury-sweet profile rather than a sharp one, the diesel lending just enough grit to keep it honest. The record also flags exceptional resin on some phenotypes, which tends to carry the aroma further. A characterful nose for an outdoor plant.
The high
The record traces the effect neatly to the parents: a body-stone from the Polm Gold side blended against an uplifting lift from Purple Power, so the two temperaments meet in the middle. A nicely balanced sensation, then, grounding and elevating at once. Neither wholly heavy nor wholly heady, but a genuine blend of the two, drawn straight from the lineage.
Growing it
An outdoor plant, and a tall one at 200cm, so she wants the open sky rather than a tent. Yield is recorded at 350 to 450 grams per plant. The record notes some variation between individuals, with a handful turning handsome purple hues in the later stages of flowering. THC is marked only as medium, giving no figure, so I will leave it there rather than guess. A tall, resinous outdoor sativa with a bit of colour in the bargain.
