Seb's take

Seb Silverback

NYC Diesel crossed with Ruderalis into what Sweet Seeds calls their quickest autoflower — a claim the seven-and-a-half week turnaround backs up. Sweet, spiced diesel on the nose from dense, resinous flowers across many bud sites. The high is happy, relaxed, and eventually sleepy, and she asks for very little in return.

Where it comes from

NYC Diesel crossed with Ruderalis, Sweet Seeds' bid for the quickest autoflower in their catalogue, and a claim the seven-and-a-half-week turnaround does little to dispute. The Diesel lends the aroma and the resin; the Ruderalis lends the speed and the compact, many-branched frame. A cash crop by design, built to finish fast without the usual autoflower compromise on quality.

Nose & flavour

Sweet and spiced with a diesel undercurrent, the NYC Diesel heritage showing plainly in the nose. Dense, resinous flowers across many bud sites carry the aroma well; it reads richer than the modest strength would imply. Not a discreet plant, but an honest one about where it came from and what it is.

The high

Happy and relaxed to begin, sleepy as it settles, an easy, agreeable arc that asks nothing of you and gives a quiet evening in return. At 16 percent THC with 0.8 percent CBD it is gentle by modern standards, which suits its purpose. A plant that closes the day without insisting on it, and leaves no hangover of drama behind.

Growing it

One of Sweet Seeds' fastest, a full run in around 53 days, or seven and a half weeks from germination. Compact at 40 to 90cm, well-branched, and generous with bud sites, she gives back 400 to 500 g/m² of resinous flower. Best indoors but content outdoors, and undemanding of nutrients like most autos. She asks very little and returns a good deal; clean your scissors at the finish and she is no trouble at all.
