Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Barbara Bud Regular carries the same Ghani AF and Shishkaberry lineage as her feminized sister, with a competition record — dry sift, rosin, hash cups — long enough to fill a mantelpiece. Sweet, citrus, and earthy on the nose with coffee and diesel beneath, and an effect that runs relaxed, sleepy, and euphoric with the odd hungry spell.

Where it comes from

The regular-seed version of Barbara Bud, carrying the same Ghani AF and Shishkaberry lineage as her feminized sister, both parents Afghan, the Shishkaberry itself a Blueberry and Afghani hybrid, so the whole line traces to hash country. The record attaches a competition record long enough to fill a mantelpiece: dry sift, rosin and hash placements across Barcelona, Amsterdam, Toronto and beyond. A decorated pedigree, and a resinous one by design.

Nose & flavour

Sweet and citrus at the front, with an earthy base and coffee and diesel beneath, a full, fruity fragrance the record credits for making excellent hash. The heavy trichome coverage carries the aroma richly. A layered, resinous bouquet from a plant bred and decorated for exactly this. Rewarding, and true to its winning record.

The high

Relaxed, sleepy and euphoric, with the odd hungry spell and an uplifted edge, a rounded experience that settles more than it lifts. At 16.6% THC it stays comfortable rather than overwhelming, an even-tempered high in keeping with the modest number. Good company for an unhurried evening. Pleasant, and forgiving of a heavy hand.

Growing it

A fast finisher at 49 days, and being regular seed she throws both sexes, one for the grower ready to select, and perhaps to breed from a genuinely decorated line. No height or yield figures are given, so I will not guess at them; the record's emphasis falls instead on her frothy, trichome-heavy nugs and their standing as concentrate material. The resin runs heavy, so clean your scissors like you were taught. A characterful project plant with a trophy cabinet behind it.
