Seb Silverback

Afghanica crossed with Skunk, and true to the name, she does exactly what it says on the packet — thick, heavy buds under a heavy coat of resin. Woody, sweet, and earthy with a pungent, spiced edge, the high runs relaxed, happy, and sleepy, staying compact enough indoors at under 60cm.

Where it comes from

Afghanica crossed with Skunk, and the name is a plain statement of intent rather than a flourish — this plant produces big, thick, heavy buds under a heavy coat of resin. Sensi Seeds pitched it at eighty-five per cent indica, and the Afghan side shows in the density while the Skunk lends the aroma. A working strain, honestly labelled: it does exactly what it says on the packet.

Nose & flavour

A deep, savoury nose — woody and earthy at the base, with a sweet note lifting it and a spiced, herbal edge on top. Pungent throughout, courtesy of the Skunk, so it does not travel discreetly. This is old-school aroma, weighty and unfashionable in the best way, the sort that fills a room before the jar is fully open.

The high

At fourteen per cent this is a gentler proposition than its bulk suggests — relaxed, happy, and euphoric, easing toward sleepy as it settles, with an appetite arriving alongside. It is an evening strain, unhurried and undemanding, that sees you comfortably to the end of the day. The sitting-down sort, and glad of it.

Growing it

Kept indoors she stays remarkably small — the record notes thirty to sixty centimetres — which suits the discreet grower after a fast, tidy turnaround. Flowering runs fifty to sixty-five days for a heavy 600 g/m², and the standard trick is eighteen hours of light in veg dropping to twelve on cue. Outdoors she grows wide rather than tall. Either way, plan for the weight of those buds and support the branches before they ask.
