A California Sour and OG Kush clone, tightened up with Afghan Kush after the original proved fluffy in the bud — the smell and taste survived the surgery intact. The chosen mother wears blue and light purple hues, and the potency is rated simply High, which the pedigree does nothing to contradict.
Where it comes from
Spliff Seeds tell the story plainly enough: they took a Californian clone carrying California Sour and OG Kush genes, admired its smell and taste, and found its bud structure disappointingly fluffy. Their remedy was Afghan Kush, which, as they note, is itself one of the ancestors of OG Kush, so they were reaching back into the line's own family to fix it. Several generations of stabilising later, they had tighter, larger buds with the aroma intact, and selected as father a striking pheno dressed in blue with light purple hues. A tidy piece of corrective breeding.
Nose & flavour
The record is generous with praise and stingy with specifics, the smell and taste were, in the breeders' own telling, the whole reason the clone was worth saving, and preserving them intact was the object of the entire exercise. What those notes actually are is left unwritten, so I shall not invent them. Suffice to say the aroma survived the surgery, which was rather the point.
The high
Potency is recorded simply as High, with no finer detail attached, and the pedigree does nothing to argue the point down, California Sour, OG Kush and Afghan Kush is not a lineup that whispers. With no effect notes on file I will not put words in their mouths; expect the sort of company these three names usually keep, and treat the first session as a measuring exercise.
Growing it
She finishes quickly, roughly seven to eight weeks in flower, and stays compact at 40 to 70cm, which is the Afghan Kush influence showing in the frame as well as the buds. Indoor yields sit at 350 to 450 g/m², a solid, honest return for a plant of this stature. The 60 percent Indica lean and the tightened bud structure the breeders worked so hard for should make her straightforward to run and quick to turn around. Watch for the blue and light purple colouring that earned the chosen parent its place.
