How to grow Automaria II
Taste
Seb's take
Named for Santa Maria, the Amazonian sativa long used in ritual, and crossed here with an Indica of mysterious parentage. Floral and spicy with a hint of grapefruit, the high runs energetic, happy, and creative — an invigorating rush with just enough Indica underneath to keep her honest.
Where it comes from
Paradise Seeds built this from the Brazilian Santa Maria sativa, a strain the record notes was used ritualistically in Amazonia for generations, crossed with Automaria, itself an indica of unknown origins. The result is a sativa-dominant hybrid with a somewhat mysterious pedigree on one side and a well-travelled one on the other. Mixed genes of indica, sativa and Ruderalis give her the automatic habit while keeping the sativa firmly in charge.
Nose & flavour
The record describes a floral, spicy aroma with a hint of grapefruit, sweet and spicy while growing, and holding that character once cured. A bright, aromatic nose with citrus lifting the floral base. Distinctive rather than sugary, and true from the growing plant through to the finished bud. A characterful bouquet that keeps its shape through the cure.
The high
Energetic, happy and full of creativity, an invigorating, upward rush that the record ties to the Santa Maria heritage, with just enough indica underneath to keep her honest. This is daytime company for anyone who wants their head engaged rather than settled. At 14 to 18% THC it lifts without overwhelming. Sociable, brisk, and pleasantly clear.
Growing it
A medium plant of 70 to 100cm, flowering in 60 to 70 days for 350 to 450 g/m², brisk for a sativa-dominant strain thanks to the Ruderalis in her. The record describes her as easy to grow, which for a plant with this much sativa character is a genuine convenience. A tidy, productive autoflower that keeps the sativa experience without the sativa calendar. Forgiving, and quick with it.
