How to grow Widow Remedy
Taste
Seb's take
Tijuana Sativa, Kerala India and Afghan lines combine in this short, fast-flowering, Sativa-dominant hybrid. Sweet pine and citrus on the nose lead into a relaxed, euphoric, calming high — remedy, indeed, is not an idle name. Barney's Farm keep this one modest at 18% THC.
Where it comes from
Barney's Farm assembled this from three separate corners of the map: Tijuana Sativa from the Mexican border, Kerala India from the far south of the subcontinent, and Afghan from the Hindu Kush. That is a wide net, and the result leans sativa at 60% to 40% indica while flowering short and fast — a hybrid that carries the reach of its sativa parents on a stouter frame. Remedy, given the CBD content the breeder built in, is not an idle name.
Nose & flavour
Sweet on the nose first, the fruit of it, then pine cutting cleanly through — the resinous, forest edge that keeps sweetness honest. Citrus brightens the finish. It is a tidy, approachable aroma rather than a loud one, the three landrace parents having been coaxed into agreement rather than argument. Pleasant company, and it does not overstay in the room.
The high
Despite the sativa lean, the effect settles rather than races: relaxed, euphoric, calming, a gentle brightening that lands soft. The 3% CBD alongside the modest THC keeps the whole thing composed and even-keeled, nothing sharp about it. A sociable, easy sort of experience — the kind of plant you reach for when you want the mood lifted without being sent anywhere in particular.
Growing it
A regular, medium plant at 90 to 110cm, short and fast-flowering as the breeder advertises. Bloom runs 55 to 65 days, around eight to nine weeks at a standard pace. Yields are solid — 500 to 600 g/plant. Being regular seed, expect both sexes and cull the males unless you are breeding. Barney's Farm keep the potency modest at 18% THC, with 3% CBD and a workable stature that suits a grower who wants the harvest in hand without a long wait. Honest about what it is.
