Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Totally Alpha OG and Tahoe OG Kush behind Vitality, an indica-dominant plant that finishes fast and yields well without asking much in return. Spice, pepper and earth on the nose; the high turns out surprisingly uplifting, relaxed, happy and euphoric, a sativa mood from an indica frame. All the daytime lift, none of the usual sativa fuss.

Where it comes from

Totally Alpha OG crossed with Tahoe OG Kush, two OG lines from AlphaFem, stacked for potency and stability. The result is an indica-dominant plant with an OG backbone, sturdy in build and quick to finish. The breeders' pitch is a neat one: the character of a sativa smoke on the frame of an easy indica grow, sparing the cultivator the fuss a true sativa usually demands. A plant bred to give with one hand what it declines to take with the other.

Nose & flavour

Spice leads, sharp and peppery, over a deep earthy base, a savoury profile rather than a sweet one, in keeping with her OG heritage. There is none of the dessert sugar of a modern hybrid here; this is the older, fuel-and-earth style of nose, direct and unfussy. Characterful company for anyone who prefers their cannabis without a sweet tooth.

The high

Here is the surprise: for an indica-dominant plant, the effect runs distinctly uplifting, relaxed and happy, yes, but euphoric and bright with it, a sativa mood drawn from an indica frame. At 28% THC, mind, this is a sipping strain and not a session one; the lift has real weight behind it. All the daytime brightness, then, without the racy edge, but treat that figure with respect.

Growing it

Big but sturdy. She runs to around 150cm and finishes fast, in roughly 63 days, which is brisk for the potency she carries. Feminised and standard-paced, she returns a solid 450 to 500 g/m² without the high-maintenance demands a true sativa would make. That is rather the point of her: the grower gets a lively, uplifting smoke from a plant that behaves like the indica it mostly is. Give her a little headroom for that 150cm and she is otherwise undemanding.
