Seb Silverback

Northern Lights, Skunk and Afghani combine into an Indica-dominant plant so frost-laden the breeders renamed her mid-project, after the crystals rather than the rapper. Compact at 80 to 110cm indoors, she rewards topping and pinching with a decent yield — resin is very much the point here.

Where it comes from

Northern Lights, Skunk and Afghani stand behind her, three names that have quietly built half the indica canon between them. Zambeza set out to cross their frost-heavy heritage into a single hash plant, and by the time the buds came in under a coat of glittering crystal the choice of name rather made itself. Vanilla Ice, then, for the frost and not the rapper, an indica-dominant plant that wears its parentage in resin. She is Zambeza's first pick in their line for hash lovers, which tells you plainly where the breeders' attention went.

Nose & flavour

The record keeps its own counsel on the exact notes, so I will not invent them for you. What is beyond doubt is the resin: buds so heavily frosted the breeders built the name around them, and a plant selected first and last for hash. Expect the deep, pressed sweetness that Afghani and Northern Lights tend to leave behind, heavy and resinous and made for the sieve rather than the show.

The high

With no effect profile set down in the record, I will speak only to her build: an indica-dominant plant from resinous, sedate stock, bred for hash rather than head-rush. Read the parentage and you will know roughly where the evening is heading, the sitting-down sort more likely than not, though I will let the plant make her own case in the glass.

Growing it

Compact and quick. Grown indoors she reaches only 80 to 110cm and flowers in around 55 days. Modest height belies a solid return of 550 to 600 g/m², and she answers topping and pinching with more of the same, so the common training techniques are well repaid here. At 17% THC she is honest about what she is: not the loudest in the room, but a tidy, frost-laden plant that keeps its manners in a small space. A fair choice where discretion of size matters more than sheer ceiling.
