How to grow ICE
Taste
Seb's take
Afghan, Northern Lights and Skunk, combined under the working name Indica Crystal Extreme — a title this resin-heavy plant has more than earned. Earthy spice with a mint lift on the nose; the high is relaxed, happy and calm, in keeping with its short, bushy, big-leafed build. Dense, sticky buds finish in eight to ten weeks.
Where it comes from
Royal Queen Seeds gathered three legends — Afghan, Northern Lights and Skunk — under the working name Indica Crystal Extreme, which the acronym then abbreviated rather neatly. Ninety per cent indica, and a title the resin-heavy plant has more than earned. A pedigree of pure heavyweights, and a plant that inherits the best of each without much argument between them.
Nose & flavour
Earthy and spiced at the core, with a cool note of mint lifting the top — an unexpected, almost frosty edge that suits both the name and the crystalline finish. Skunk and Afghan account for the depth beneath. A classic profile with a bright, cooling twist to keep it interesting.
The high
Relaxed, happy and calming — a steady indica settling in keeping with the plant's short, bushy, big-leafed build. It eases the body and lifts the mood without either running to excess. Comfortable evening company, and about as dependable as the type gets.
Growing it
One of the fancier plants at flower, all classic indica features and heavy resin. She stays short to medium at 80 to 120cm and takes any training you care to give her; growing bushy and compact, she benefits from a little defoliation to get light into the middle and lower growth. Dense, sticky buds finish across 8 to 10 weeks, yielding around 500 grams, and testing 18% THC. A rewarding, trainable plant that repays a bit of tidying with even, frosted results.
