How to grow + Speed Auto
Taste
Seb's take
Critical Mass and Speed Devil #2 combine in pursuit of the fastest flower Sweet Seeds could manage, and the pungency arrived along with the speed. Sweet, fruity, cheese-edged on the nose; the high is happy, energetic, and creative rather than heavy. Slightly sativa-leaning, and true to her name in every sense but patience.
Where it comes from
Critical Mass crossed with Speed Devil #2 Auto by Sweet Seeds, in open pursuit of the fastest flower they could manage - and the pungency came along with the speed, as it tends to. Critical Mass lends the bulk and the sweetness; Speed Devil the hurry. Slightly sativa-leaning for all the indica in the family tree. The name is a plain promise, and the record keeps it. A strain built around the calendar.
Nose & flavour
Sweet and fruity up front with a cheese edge underneath - the Critical Mass side lending a savoury note beneath the sugar. The record calls it pungent and high-quality, and the cheese is where the pungency lives. A carbon filter would earn its keep. An unusual, moreish nose that pairs the sweet and the funky rather than choosing between them. Loud, and better for it.
The high
Fifteen to twenty per cent THC, with an average 0.7 per cent CBD alongside, behind a bright, upbeat high - happy, energetic and creative rather than sedating. The slight sativa lean shows in the direction. A daytime automatic by temperament, lively without the edge. Good company for getting on with something rather than settling into nothing.
Growing it
Lightning quick - forty-nine days in flower - and compact at 50 to 90cm, so she suits a grower short on both time and height. Indoors she returns 350 to 500 g/m²; outdoors, thirty to a hundred and fifty grams per plant. Suitable for either setting and true to her name in every respect but patience. Give her light and let the clock run; she does the rest at speed. A brisk, generous little automatic.
