How to grow SexBud
Taste
Seb's take
White Grapefruit and C99 combine in Sex Bud for a sweet, pineapple and grapefruit nose that lives up to its parentage rather than its name. A relative newcomer, having only entered the scene in 2015, she takes well to both Screen and Sea of Green. The high runs euphoric, creative and — the name insists — aroused.
Where it comes from
Female Seeds crossed White Grapefruit with C99 to make this sativa-dominant strain, and a fair bit of effort reportedly went into perfecting it before it reached the public. It is a relative newcomer, having only entered the scene in 2015, which by cannabis standards makes it a fresh face rather than an heirloom. The leaves read indica, but the plant's own structure leans sativa, with long, elongated stretches between the nodes.
Nose & flavour
Sweet up front, then the fruit takes over — pineapple and grapefruit, bright and tropical, living up rather more to its parentage than to its name. The White Grapefruit side is plain in the citrus, while C99 lends the tropical sweetness beneath. A cheerful, juicy profile with no heaviness to it, the sort that reads as summer in a jar and makes no apology for it.
The high
Euphoric and creative, with — the name insists — an aroused edge to round out the set. It keeps to the brighter, sativa-leaning side of things, an uplifting sort of high that engages the mind rather than pinning the body. Good company for a lively evening, and one that lives up to its parentage as readily as its billing. A cheerful lift, all told, with a little mischief built in.
Growing it
She takes well to both Screen of Green and Sea of Green, responding positively to either, which suits her elongated internodal structure. Height stays manageable at 80 to 100cm, flowering runs 56 to 63 days, and yields land at 350 to 500 g/m². THC sits at 17 to 24 percent, with a trace of CBD at 0.1 to 0.5 percent. Well adapted and cooperative for a relative newcomer, she rewards a bit of training with a tidy, productive canopy — a sensible pick for a grower who likes a screen.
