How to grow PolarLight #2 Auto
Taste
Seb's take
Dutch Passion crossed Isis with a fast-maturing Ruderalis to produce PolarLight, their third autoflowering release and reportedly still their best. Sweet and fruity on the nose with spicy hints of Haze beneath; the high is clear, powerful, and notably long-lasting for something so easy to grow. Modest THC, but no shortage of staying power.
Where it comes from
Dutch Passion created this by hybridising Isis with one of their fast-maturing Ruderalis varieties, the third feminized autoflower they released, and by their own account quite possibly the best autofem available. The Haze influence carries through in the aroma and the character of the high, while the Ruderalis supplies the automatic, cold-tolerant timing the polar name gestures toward. A milestone strain in the autoflower story, and one the breeder is plainly proud of.
Nose & flavour
The flavours field is empty, but the record fills the gap: a sweet, fruity aroma carrying spicy hints of Haze beneath. It is a brighter, more characterful nose than a low-THC autoflower might promise, the Haze lineage lending a spice edge to the sweetness. Pleasant and distinctive, and more expressive than its modest strength would lead you to expect.
The high
The record describes the high as clear, powerful and long-lasting, a notable trio for a plant of only 8 to 12 percent THC. What it lacks in raw strength it makes up in clarity and staying power, the Haze heritage keeping the head bright and the effect durable. Gentle in intensity but far from fleeting; easygoing daytime company that lingers pleasantly.
Growing it
Small, quick and forgiving, the plant stays a compact 35 to 80cm and flowers in around 70 days, which suits tight spaces and cool climates alike. Yields are modest at 25 to 50g per plant, in keeping with the size, so this is a strain for convenience and ease rather than sheer weight. The record calls it easy to grow, and the low, tidy stature bears that out. A dependable first autoflower, undemanding from seed to jar.
