Seb's take

Seb Silverback

A Panama-Colombia cross that puts the body on autopilot while the mind stays remarkably clear-headed, which is more than can be said for most autopilots. Old-school citrus on the nose with a whisper of hash beneath; the high is focused, uplifting, and sociable. Compact indoors, tolerant outdoors, and no trouble to grow.

Where it comes from

A Panama and Colombia cross, a pure sativa drawing on two of the great Central and South American landrace traditions. Herbies keep the pedigree clean and old-school, and the plant wears it plainly. This is heritage sativa genetics rendered manageable, the sort of lineage that built the reputation of the region long before hybrids took over the catalogue. Two storied origins combined into a plant that carries the character of both without the difficulty their equatorial roots usually bring.

Nose & flavour

That instantly recognisable old-school citrus aroma, bright and clean, with subtle notes of hash beneath. Sweet berry, wood, lemon, strawberry and a fresh top note fill it out, so there is real range here beyond the headline citrus. It is a classic, sunlit sort of nose, fruity and fresh with just enough hash depth to keep it interesting. A generous, expressive aroma from properly old genetics.

The high

A psychedelic yet clear-headed experience, by the record's account, sending the mind into the stratosphere while the body performs any task on autopilot, which is more than can be said for most autopilots. It runs toward euphoria, focus and an uplifting, sociable lift. A bright, cerebral daytime high with real reach to it, engaging the mind while leaving the body free to get on. Classic sativa, and a lively one.

Growing it

Unusually cooperative for a pure sativa. She keeps a manageable size indoors and tolerates less-than-ideal weather outdoors, bringing bountiful harvests of exotic-smelling buds. She flowers over a long 63 to 80 days, as her sativa heritage dictates, and returns a solid figure of roughly 400 to 490 g/m². THC sits at 13 to 15 percent, at the milder end. The record gives no height, so I will not invent one. Easy to grow for the type, and forgiving of a rougher outdoor season. A friendly landrace sativa.
