How to grow Orange Hill Special
Taste
Seb's take
Built from revered 1980s Orange Skunk stock, pungent orange and citrus on the nose ahead of dense, terpene-coated flowers threaded with orange pistils. The high runs uplifting, relaxed and euphoric, arriving in under nine weeks of flower. Lollipop her three weeks in and the colas reward the effort.
Where it comes from
Dutch Passion draw this from some of the most revered genetics of the 1980s, Orange Skunk stock, the best of their long-running Orange family, offered to the wider community. Orange Hill Special is no everyday plant, then, but a considered selection from a pedigree the breeder has tended for decades. A balanced 50/50 hybrid, it carries the citrus heritage forward on a well-established base. When a house with that much Orange history calls a strain their special, it is worth taking the claim seriously.
Nose & flavour
Pungent orange and citrus, forthright and bright, the Orange family signature, turned up rather than muted. It does not travel discreetly; this is a loud, zesty nose with real carry to it. The dense flowers come threaded with orange pistils and glazed in terpene-loaded resin, and they smell every bit as vivid as they look. A sharp, appetising aroma with no shortage of confidence.
The high
Uplifting and euphoric to lead, settling into a relaxed calm as it goes, a rounded high that lifts before it eases. At 26% THC there is genuine weight behind the cheer, so treat it as a sipping strain rather than a session one. The balance keeps it sociable at a sensible measure, but the potency rewards restraint. Good, bright company, provided you approach it with due care.
Growing it
Blooms in just under nine weeks, 56 to 63 days, to dense, resin-coated flowers, on a manageable plant of around 100cm. Indoor yields sit near 500 g/m². The record offers a useful piece of technique: lollipop her three weeks into flower, stripping the lower growth so the plant channels its effort into a healthy canopy of chunky colas up top. A tidy, rewarding grow for one willing to put in that small discipline, and generous to those who do.
