Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Named for Nikki Lastreto and Swami Chaitanya, master growers who did more talking-up of cannabis than this modest hybrid ever will. Lemon Skunk and Original OG give a clean citrus-pine nose over quiet West Coast confidence; the high relaxes without switching off the happy, creative bits. Compact, too — no sprawling required.

Where it comes from

Named for Nikki Lastreto and Swami Chaitanya, the Californian growers who did rather more talking-up of cannabis than this modest hybrid ever will. Lemon Skunk and Original OG sit behind it, lending the citrus and the grounded OG backbone respectively. Blimburn have kept the balance nearly even, 55% indica, and dressed the whole thing in a sun-grown, West Coast calm. A tribute plant, and a well-mannered one.

Nose & flavour

Lemon and citrus lead, clean and sharp, with pine grounding the base — a bright OG nose with the Skunk parent's zest brought forward. There is a quiet confidence to the aroma, the record's phrase, and it is a fair one; nothing here is loud, but nothing is muddled either. A tidy, aromatic jar in the classic West Coast style.

The high

Relaxing at its core, with the sativa side keeping the mood happy and gently creative rather than sinking it. At 18 to 20% THC it lands with substance but no heaviness — the sort of effect that eases the shoulders while leaving the head clear enough to enjoy the afternoon. Grounded company, in keeping with the growers it honours.

Growing it

Compact, at around 100cm, so no sprawling plant to wrestle with — a strong fit for a grower after OG character without the OG stretch. Flowering runs 56 to 70 days, and yields land at a respectable 458 to 549 g/m². She stays practical throughout, which is rather the point. A sensible, aromatic grow that fits a modest space and returns a proper harvest for it.
