Blueberry and AK-47 by way of a secret hybrid, bred to shrug off Moscow's cold rather than Amsterdam's. Sweet forest berries on the nose that turn into an almost overwhelming cherry note when smoked. The effect is positive and relaxing, and the buds turn a deep purple by the end, as if dressed for the weather.
Where it comes from
Kalashnikov Seeds built this on Blueberry and AK-47 by way of a secret hybrid, a feminized fifty-fifty cross bred to shrug off Moscow's cold rather than Amsterdam's mild. The record makes a point of her cold resistance, recommending harvest before the frosty days arrive if the climate allows. The name, the breeder and the AK-47 parent all pull in the same eastern direction. A hardy plant with a clear brief: hold up where others would not.
Nose & flavour
A sweet forest-berries scent leads, which transforms while smoking into a soft, almost overwhelming cherry aroma. The berry is the first thing to reach you, the cherry emerging in the smoke itself, richer and rounder. It is a fruit-forward nose with a shift built into it, the aroma evolving between the jar and the draw. Sweet, deep and unmistakably berried.
The high
The effect is very positive and relaxing, an easy, settling experience with an upbeat character to it. It leans toward calm without turning heavy, the fifty-fifty balance keeping it even. Company for winding down while staying in good spirits. A pleasant, relaxed effect that keeps the mood bright as the body eases. Nothing overwhelming about it save the cherry on the nose.
Growing it
Medium in height at 80 to 100cm, she forms compact buds covered in thick layers of resin and turns a deep, dark purple by the end of flowering, as if dressed for the weather she was bred to survive. Flowering runs 55 to 65 days, and she is resistant to the cold, best harvested before the frost sets in. Yields land at 450 to 550 g/m², with THC noted at 18% and CBD around five per cent. A tough, handsome plant for a cold climate. Standard care brings in a resinous, purple-tinged harvest.
