Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Strawberry Haze and White Widow behind her, though little of the berry survives into the nose — sweet, earthy, tobacco and wood instead. The high is a chatty one: energetic, focused and creative, the sort that gets things done rather than sat about. A vigorous grower, reaching towards three metres given the room outdoors.

Where it comes from

Medical Seeds built Malakoff on a Strawberry Haze and White Widow cross, a Haze-leaning pairing that keeps the vigour of both parents. The result is a tall, energetic plant with a high THC content — though, as it happens, little of the Strawberry survives into the nose. A cross that draws more on the Haze side of its heritage than the fruit, and grows accordingly.

Nose & flavour

Sweet at the top, over an earthy, tobacco-and-wood base — a savoury, grounded profile rather than the berry one the Strawberry Haze parentage might promise. The sweetness sits above a distinctly earthy foundation, the tobacco note lending it a mature, unshowy character. More cellar than fruit bowl, and none the worse for it.

The high

A chatty one: creative, energetic and talkative, focused and happy with it — the sort of effect that gets things done and keeps the conversation going rather than sending you to the armchair. A bright, engaged lift in keeping with the Haze lineage. Company for company, in other words, and for a busy stretch besides.

Growing it

A vigorous grower: indoors she vegetates one to two weeks before a flowering period of 10 to 11.5 weeks, yielding around 500 g/m². Outdoors she reaches upwards of three metres and, the record says, produces 1,000-plus grams per plant, ready for harvest in mid-October. Height indoors is recorded at 300cm, so give her real room and firm early training either way. THC sits at 20%. A tall, productive plant for a grower with the space and the patience for a long Haze finish.
