Seb's take

Seb Silverback

A 70/30 indica-leaning hybrid out of Super Skunk and California Sour Diesel — itself Lemon Tree crossed with Geist OG — despite a pedigree that reads more sativa than the plant behaves. Pungent, peppery and lemon-forward, she does not travel discreetly, and in moderation suits daytime use with a relaxed, focused calm.

Where it comes from

Humboldt Seeds crossed Super Skunk with California Sour Diesel, itself a Lemon Tree and Geist OG pairing, to make Lemon Citron. The result is filed as a 70/30 indica-leaning hybrid, which is a surprising outcome given a parentage that reads rather more sativa than the plant behaves. The Skunk lends the loud aroma and the resistance; the Sour Diesel side, the citrus and the fuel. A pedigree that promises one thing and delivers another, agreeably.

Nose & flavour

Pungent and peppery, with a sharp lemon cutting across the top, a loud-and-proud smell by the record's own account. The Super Skunk sees to the volume and the Sour Diesel to the citrus, and the two together make for an aroma that does not travel discreetly. A forthright, zesty nose with real spice behind it, the sort that announces itself well before the jar is open.

The high

In moderation, a daytime effect. The character runs relaxed and focused with a calming edge, best kept to sensible measures, since the potency is considerable. It is a composed, clear sort of high rather than a heavy one, the citrus brightness reflected in the effect. Taken with restraint it suits the working part of the day; taken freely it will make its strength known. Judge the dose accordingly.

Growing it

A very tall plant, reaching for roughly 450cm at full stretch, so this is one for the open air or a room with serious height, give her the headroom in earnest. Flowering runs 65 days, and she returns 400 to 450 g/m². THC is quoted at a strong 24 to 26 percent, with CBD at 0.1 percent. Her standout agronomic trait is a genuine resistance to humid conditions, which earns her a place in a damper climate. Loud, tall and tough, in short, and best given the room she demands.
