Grape Romulan and Pre-98 Bubba combine in Grape Kush, the Romulan side pushing colour toward dark purple and yield well upward, the Bubba side keeping the flowering time brisk. Grape, sweet, earthy, berry and lavender on the nose; the high runs euphoric and happy into relaxed, tingly sleepiness at 21% THC.
Where it comes from
Cali Connection built Grape Kush by putting Grape Romulan to a Pre-98 Bubba, the Bubba acting as pollen donor. The Romulan side is where the yield and the deep purple colour come from; Pre-98 Bubba brings that classic, hashy Kush weight and keeps the flowering brisk. The breeder's stated aim was an extremely grape flavour that carries through to extract — and the record suggests they got there, with a Nag Champa and hash note for good measure.
Nose & flavour
Grape dominates, exactly as intended, sweet and bright, with berry alongside and a floral lavender lift. Beneath runs an earthy, incense-like note — the Nag Champa and hash character the record singles out. A distinctive nose, and one bred to survive the press as much as the bowl.
The high
Euphoric and happy to begin, an easy lift, before it turns relaxed and tingly and eventually sleepy. At 21% THC with a point of CBD alongside, it is a rounded, comfortable experience rather than an overwhelming one. The Bubba parentage shows in the settled, weighted close.
Growing it
Feminised, flowering fast — 56 to 63 days, the record crediting both parents for the pace. Yields run high on the Romulan side, though no figure is fixed, and I will not fix one myself. The colour is the thing to watch for: extremely dark and purple, given the finish it wants. No height is recorded either, so none is offered.
