Seb Silverback

Old and New Malawi Killer meet Koh Chang and Hmong Thai landrace in Golden Tiger, a sativa built for Sea of Green from days after germination. Spice, lemon and floral on the nose lead to a high that is properly psychedelic — energetic and euphoric, no half measures. Thrives indoors or out.

Where it comes from

A landrace affair, and a proper one: Ace Seeds combined Old and New Malawi Killer with Koh Chang Thai and Hmong Thai to make this fully sativa line. African and South-East Asian heritage in a single plant, the Malawi bringing the equatorial punch, the Thai lineage the soaring, spiced character. The record keeps the parentage to those names, and they are pedigree enough: this is a pure sativa built from some of the more storied landrace stock in circulation.

Nose & flavour

Spice leads the nose, warm and exotic, with lemon cutting brightly across it and a floral note lifting the finish. It is a classic equatorial sativa profile, keen and aromatic, the citrus and spice trading places as it opens. The floral edge keeps it from turning harsh. A bright, characterful nose, and a fitting one for genetics drawn from this far afield.

The high

Properly psychedelic, the record has it, energetic and euphoric with no half measures about it. This is a pure sativa showing its full colours: a soaring, heady, lively effect rather than a settling one. Not a beginner's session, and not an evening's full stop; treat the first measure as reconnaissance and the second with respect. A high for the experienced, and honest about being so.

Growing it

A landrace sativa asks patience: flowering runs a long 77 to 98 days. Height and yield go unrecorded here, so I will speak to method instead, which the record covers well. She suits Sea of Green from days after germination, flipped straight to 12/12, and takes equally to SCRoG or horizontal training, thanks to excellent yields on the lateral branches. She reacts well to pruning. THC is recorded at 25 to 30 per cent, with 0.5 per cent CBD. Thrives indoors or out.
